Manufactured Boards

manufactured boards are very cheap and easy to make. they can be accuratley made into lengths and thicknesses. very cheap.

plywood
layers of wood placed perpendicularly to make a board.

chip board
lots of chips of woods stuck together and compacted together with glue, not good in wetness.

sterling board
like chip board but cheaper and bigger chips.

mdf
wood fibres stuck together with glue. basically made out of dust. very dangerous if you breath in the dust made from working with it.

block board
like plywood but blocks of wood stuck together under laminate to create a wood. cheap but not very strong.

hexaboard
used for outdoor flooring because of its grippy top surface. good in wet weather.
